COM. LING.- Parece claro que el elemento final es haran 'valle'. Cabe tener en cuenta al respecto, que desde el lugar de la ubicación de este topónimo parte el término denominado ARANTZOKO (v. en este capítulo). El elemento inicial es ap(h)o 'sapo' que en composición da apa-, al igual que en topónimos como Apaegui y Apaolaza [MICH. AV, nº 66], o en los topónimos alaveses Apaburu o Zapaburu. HIST.- (V. OTEITZAKO HARROBIA en este capítulo). DESCR.- Es la vega situada en la parte SE del casco urbano de Doneztebe que afronta por el NE con el río Baztan, por el S con BUNAKORRI, y por el O con el casco urbano. En la actualidad, parte de este término está destinado al complejo industrial que lleva el nombre del topónimo.
