COM. LING.- Del apellido Andueza que, por analogía con otros oicónimos, ha derivado en la forma Anduecea, más documentada como Anducea, con -e- > -i- ante -a en la denominación oral, fenómeno que, por otra parte, ya se observa en el dato de 1688. Según MICH. Se trata de un compuesto de andu o andue 'cepa' 'parte del tronco de cualquier árbol o planta que está dentro de la tierra y unida a las raíces' [DGV] y del sufijo abundancial -tza. Es un oicónimo constatado en otros pueblos, así p. ej. En Etxalar se documenta bajo la forma Andueza hasta el año 1800, pasando a denominarse Anduezea a partir de la citada fecha y Anduzea desde el año 1900 [APEZETXEA, P. EEBI, p. 184].
