COM. LING.- En los pueblos objeto del presente estudio, se utiliza el vocablo landa para significar '(la) vega'. Todas ellas se encuentran emplazadas en la terrazas fluviales de los ríos EZKURRA, EZPELURA, BAZTAN y BIDASOA. Sin embargo, IRIG. identifica landa con 'pastizal' 'prado' así como con 'campa' ["Izen geografikoak", Euskera, 33, 1988-2, p. 655], lo cual no parece apropiado en el caso de estos pueblos y, al parecer, en gran parte de Navarra.
