The Commission for the Handbook of Standard Basque has the following main goals:
- To update and, where necessary, adapt and/or correct the EBE publication on an ongoing basis, both digitally and on paper.
- To oversee the Jagonet and Euskara Eskuz Esku (EEE) services.
- To formulate Euskara Batuaren Ortotipografia (EBO) (Standard Basque Orthotypography) in the coming years.
To act as a Delegated Commission on the rules, criteria and recommendations fixed up to now and attempting to meet new, emerging needs, both prescriptively and through criteria and recommendations.
