The Promotion Commission has specific functions, which correspond to the Jagon section of Euskaltzaindia, monitor Basque and identify the use of Basque and the areas in which Basque is used. For this purpose, one of the Commission's main strategies is for Euskaltzaindia to be at the centre of thought about these tasks, i.e. pooling experiences and making suggestions together with other institutions and associations working in the world of Basque, to channel lines of action together. The Commission also reports to Euskaltzaindia on alarming or serious circumstances affecting Basque, and offers proposals and solutions. At the same time, the Commission is responsible for compiling, completing and keeping up to date the corpus of legal texts concerning Basque, as well as renewing the set of statements made by Euskaltzaindia.
