The main function of the Basque Dialects Working Group is to continue analyzing the contribution of each of the dialects to unified Basque and, in this way, to continue completing the Dictionary of Euskaltzaindia.
The working group develops the project called "From dialects to unified Basque: how to complete the Dictionary of Euskaltzaindia".
So far, the following lexicological lists have been analyzed:
- Contribution from the Barranca region (Navarra).
- Labayry dictionary.
In the period 2021-2024, the lists of the rest of the counties of Navarra, Lapurdi, Baja Navarra and Zuberoa (Northern Basque Country) and Gipuzkoa will be studied.
Norm number 137 “On the use of Basque dialects in teaching, the media and administration” will also be reviewed.
